  • 1 (5 oz) can of tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, and diced red onion. Mix well.
  2. Assemble the Sandwich: Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the tuna mixture and a generous amount of cheddar cheese. Top with the other slice of bread (buttered side out).
  3. Heat Your Pan: Preheat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in it. Press down gently with a spatula.
  4. Toast Both Sides: Cook until golden brown on one side (about 4-5 minutes), then flip carefully to toast the other side until both are golden brown and cheese is melted.
