  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Layer cheese on top and cover with the second slice, butter-side up.
  4. Grill until the bottom slice is golden brown (about 3 minutes), then flip and grill until the other side is golden and the cheese has melted (about another 3 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat and let cool for a minute before slicing diagonally.
