  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • ½ cup low-sugar BBQ sauce
  • 8 tortillas (flour or corn)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the flank steak and pat dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned to your liking. Remove from heat and let rest.
  3. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium-low, add remaining butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in honey and BBQ sauce; simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Slice rested steak against the grain into thin strips and toss with the sauce mixture.
  5. Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave until pliable. Assemble tacos by placing beef on each tortilla, drizzling with extra sauce, topping with cilantro, and finishing with lime juice.
