  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, alternating with milk until smooth; don’t overmix.
  6. Fold in crushed Oreos gently.
  7. Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool cakes for 10 minutes in the pans before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla to stiff peaks for frosting.
  10. Assemble by layering cakes with whipped cream in between and on top; sprinkle with additional crushed Oreos.
