Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (1.5 lbs)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup dry Marsala wine
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Prepare your ingredients: mince garlic, slice mushrooms, and season chicken with salt and pepper.
- 2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and butter. Sauté chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides (about 5 minutes per side). Remove from skillet.
- 3. In the same skillet, add more butter if needed and sauté sliced mushrooms with minced garlic until softened (about 3 minutes).
- 4. Pour in the Marsala wine and let it reduce for about 2 minutes while scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- 5. Add chicken broth and return the chicken to the skillet; let it simmer gently.
- 6. Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and coated in sauce.
- 7. Serve hot, drizzled with sauce and garnished with parsley if desired.
