Description

Birria ramen is a delightful fusion of traditional Mexican birria and comforting Japanese ramen.   • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp birria spice mix
  • 1 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 6 whole garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 8 oz fresh ramen noodles
  • 2 lime wedges
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 4 cups beef stock or water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sear the beef chuck roast until browned on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  2. Add onions and garlic to the pot; cook until fragrant and translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Stir in the birria spice mix and add beef stock or water. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Cover pot, reduce heat to low, and slow-cook for 2-3 hours until beef is fork-tender.
  5. Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions; drain well.
  6. In serving bowls, place noodles topped with shredded beef and ladle hot broth over the top. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
