  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar + 2 tsp ground cinnamon for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or heat oil in a deep pot to 365°F (185°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, melt butter; let it cool slightly before mixing in eggs and apple cider.
  4. Gently combine wet ingredients into dry until just mixed—do not overmix.
  5. If using a donut pan, fill cavities halfway with batter; if frying, use a piping bag or spoon to drop into hot oil.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Roll warm donuts in cinnamon sugar mixture before serving.
