Ingredients

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Vanilla extract
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar
  • Milk or cream
  • Mini chocolate chips (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Gently fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of batter onto the prepared sheets, spacing them apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly underbaked in the center; cool on wire racks.
  7. For the buttercream, beat softened butter and gradually add powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add mini chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Once cookies are cool, pipe or spread cookie dough buttercream between two brownie cookies.
