Description

French Dip Sandwiches are the epitome of comfort food, featuring succulent roast beef tucked into crusty hoagie rolls and served with a side of rich au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef roast (ribeye or chuck)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 3 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper. Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat until browned (3-5 minutes per side).
  2. Transfer the roast to a slow cooker, add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, cover, and cook on low for about 8 hours until tender.
  3. Sauté sliced onions in the same skillet until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
  4. Preheat oven to broil. Cut hoagie rolls in half and toast under the broiler until golden (2-3 minutes).
  5. Shred the cooked beef and fill each toasted roll with meat and sautéed onions.
  6. Serve sandwiches hot alongside small bowls of warm broth for dipping.
