- 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup plain full-fat yogurt
- 2 tablespoons garlic and ginger paste
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup coconut milk or heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons garam masala
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- Salt and chili powder to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic-ginger paste, cumin, garam masala, salt, and chili powder. Add chicken pieces; coat well. Cover and marinate for at least one hour or overnight.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through and slightly charred. Remove from heat.
- In a pot, heat oil over medium heat; sauté onions until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic-ginger paste until fragrant.
- Add crushed tomatoes, salt, cumin powder, and chili powder; simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
- Incorporate grilled chicken into the sauce along with coconut milk or cream; stir well and simmer for another five minutes.
- Serve hot with basmati rice or naan.
