  • 1 lb halal ground beef
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, mix halal ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake meatballs for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  4. While meatballs bake, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for one minute; add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce for an additional five minutes.
  6. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and toss with olive oil.
  7. Serve spaghetti topped with marinara sauce and meatballs. Garnish with fresh basil.
