- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Toss them in a bowl with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well coated.
- Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish if using homemade dough.
- Layer half of the apple mixture in the crust, dot with butter, then add the remaining apples. Optionally cover with another layer of dough or create a lattice top.
- Bake for 15 minutes at high heat, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for another 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow cooling for at least an hour before slicing.
