Description

A creamy, spiced tomato sauce envelops tender chicken for a comforting dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Serve it with rice or naan for a delightful meal.


Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken thighs
  • Plain full-fat yogurt
  • Garlic and ginger paste
  • Ground spices (cumin, coriander, garam masala)
  • Crushed tomatoes
  • Cream or coconut milk
  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic-ginger paste, cumin, coriander, and salt. Add chicken thighs and coat well. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. 2. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken pieces until golden brown on all sides (about 10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add crushed tomatoes and cook down slightly.
  4. 4. Add creaminess: Stir in cream (or coconut milk) and simmer until thickened (about 10 minutes).
  5. 5. Combine & simmer: Return cooked chicken to the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes for flavors to meld.
  6. 6. Serve: Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve over basmati rice or with naan.
